The Bussiness of Love!

As the theory "Survival of the fittest" gained acceptance things started to become complex, which was further fuelled by the latest trends and technologies, so in the process a multitude of businesses started, one of them being the business of love. As the word "love" is concerned it is a highly sensitive one. Love is  a reason of human existence. It's a gift to oneself. But in today's materialistic world this word lost its connotation, it now ceases to mean what it used to mean,  its meaning has been confined to 'a romantic relationship between two individuals of opposite sex'. This started with a highly private affair on individual basis, but with the scripting of various heroic acts like Romeo-Juliet, Salim-Anarkali and their characterization with the advent of television, it created a spark of restlessness among the masses. And the current daily soaps provided a slow and a long lasting feel that without it everything else is insignificant. Thus, this whole process gained a lot of attention and finally it has come out of the closet and has got acceptance to be a canny substance. So in that buzz, barters, in the process of making some tangible benefit, started to exploit these already exploited beings in all possible ways and thus giving rise to The Business of Love!
Today, it can be witnessed at every nook and corner, be it parks, roadsides, colleges, restaurants or buses, almost everywhere you see a couple glued together, when together, and to phone when alone. In the bargain they currently provide sustenance to millions be it park owners, cafeterias, telecomm service providers or traffic signal balloon sellers.
The irony has reached to the heights that most of the restaurants are open only for couples where entry for singles is totally prohibited, that is you can’t have a cup of tea there unless you are accompanied by a partner of opposite sex. Go to a paid park alone and you be gazed as if alien hit an un-trodden path.
Telecomm service providers have taken it one step further by introducing special packs for this community like free calling, night packs, sms packs, and the latest video calling on 3G has culminated the constraints laid by the distances. There was a saying, “letter is half a meeting” but now with 3G it is more than a full meet.
For the formal expression of their love, the love birds present gifts to one another on regular basis, and if someone misses or forgets for her/him there are customized reminders in the form of valentine days, rose days etc. If you just analyse the rates of gifts you will be amazed, as to whom they are for, but the business men know the desperations of the folks they intend to grab.
To dress nicely is a good thing to do, to do so for an occasion it even better, doing it for just one person can’t be regarded as the best thing, but that’s a norm and a requirement for these lovely beings, that is a dress once worn is not to be seen again.
Over the last few years this menace has reached to the level of generalization yet it is not seen as a potential topic of debate, because it currently involves a good part of the society in one way or the other. But, instead it has been set free and has been embodied in the minds to be a homely seen.
The question is whether this is love, a true love, or whether love exists. Does not matter whatever the answer be but what really matters is that, The Business of Love Flourishes.
